More and more churches are discovering the need to build their online presence. A website is your “shop window” to the world, to attract newcomers and raise your church’s profile in the local community and in the wider world. As John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, might have said today:
“The World Wide Web is my parish.”
Whether you want to reach out to new members or engage with existing members, making the most of the internet is a vital part of spreading the message. I can help you to develop an engaging online presence, to build your social media profile (Facebook, Twitter), and to reap the benefits of various free technology platforms.
Elegant, fresh website design
Easy-to-use editing tools, designed for simplicity
Smart tools to help you promote your church activities
A range of flexible options to fit your budget
Make the most of today’s internet technology, connect with younger people and grow your congregation – starting today!
The basic website package includes design, coding and testing, preparation and insertion of photos and copy. I will work with you to agree a structure of pages to suit your needs. Prior to launch, you get a fully illustrated editing manual (PDF) and logins for your website editors.
Mobile-friendly website
You website will be fully compatible with the latest mobile phones. This works really well if someone is trying to use your website at the church, such as during a fundraising drive, or for a visitor trying to find your church while walking down the street.
Bespoke template design
I like to offer a personal service, so I will help you to create a web presence that truly represents your place of worship. You want your church website to be distinctive, not just another readymade template from a website company. If your church already has a “corporate identity” try to match the website design with your existing printed materials and incorporate your church logo into the website. A consistent look and feel helps to build awareness of your church in the local community.
User-friendly design
I adopt best practice techniques in designing for your customers. Eye-catching buttons, calls to action, and minimal visual clutter ensure your users will get straight to your products and services. And adopting some of the online techniques used by business can help you to build your congregation and improve church communications.
Good usability means happy users!

A contact form is a simple way to allow people to email you without revealing your email address publicly. You can also have a special form for hiring out the church hall, and for prayer requests.
A Who’s Who is a great way of making your church more welcoming with photographs of the clergy/ministers. If desired, you can also include the PCC/church council or other key people, with an option to allow users to contact them directly.
Photo gallery
Adding photos of events and worship brings your website to life and makes your church look more welcoming. You can easily update your photo galleries by logging in, or I can automatically embed photos from a photo-sharing website like Instagram. Using a sharing site allows others to participate and engages younger members, as users can add photos using mobile phones.
